Marcus Ashcroft is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played 318 games for the Brisbane Bears/Lions and is currently on the coaching panel of the Gold Coast Football Club . He was born on September 25, 1971 in Gold Coast, Queensland.
Ashcroft began his career with the Brisbane Bears in 1989 and played for them until 1996. He then played for the Brisbane Lions from 1997 to 2003. During his career, he won three premierships with the Lions in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
After retiring from playing football, Ashcroft became a coach. He was an assistant coach at the Western Bulldogs from 2004 to 2006. He then returned to the Brisbane Lions as an assistant coach from 2007 to 2010. In 2011, he joined the Gold Coast Football Club as an assistant coach. He was appointed as the club’s head of football operations in October 2014.
